Milwaukee Attic Insulation
Properly insulating and air sealing your attic will help reduce your energy bills. Attics are often one of the easiest places in a house to insulate, especially if you'd like to add insulation.
Do I Have Enough Attic Insulation?
No matter what kind of insulation you currently have in your attic, one quick way to determine if you need more is to look across the span of your attic. If your insulation is just level with or below your floor joists (i.e., you can easily see your joists), you should add more. If you cannot see any of the floor joists because the insulation is well above them, you probably have enough and adding more may not be cost-effective.
It is important that the insulation be evenly distributed with no low spots; sometimes there is enough insulation in the middle of the attic and very little along the eaves. If your attic insulation covers your joists and is distributed evenly, you probably have enough.
Our Attic Insulation Products Include:
- Foam - Foam can be used in attics, walls, basements and crawl spaces. Spray applied foam easily covers uneven spacing in the joists and is easy to manipulate into areas filled with piping, wiring and duct work without losing thermal performance.
- Radiant Barrier - Radiant barriers usually consist of a thin sheet or coating of a highly reflective material, usually aluminum, applied to one or both sides of a number of substrate materials. These substrates include kraft paper, plastic films, cardboard, plywood sheathing, and air infiltration barrier material.
- Fiberglass - Fiberglass Insulation is available as loose fill or as rolls and batts. Loose fill fiberglass insulation installation is done by our insulation contractors using specialized equipment and is good at filling the small gaps, leaks and crevices in the attic.
- Cellulose - Cellulose loose fill insulation is made from recycled newsprint and chemicals. It is a good for re-insulating attics and walls and has the same general characteristics as fiberglass loose fill insulation.
